Abstract
The main aim of this work is to make a critical assessment of the production of La comedia nueva, performed by the Compañía Nacional de Teatro Clásico in 2008. The make a version of the playwright Ernesto Caballero: a version of a text of Moratín in which a deep metatheatrical reflection that relates scenic game of Moratín with the strong social and scenic changes also were taking place in Spain in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. Always from keys such as: «postmodern orthodoxy» and a contemporary reading of this «classical» Spanish theater comedy.
