Abstract
This study collectslexical references to the dragon tree in Arabic. Afther an initial exposition on the species of Dracaena, known as the "dragon tree". the Arabic names of the plant and its resin are analysed with a selection of passages related to the dragon tree in Medieval and modern Arabic sources from the IX to the XVIII centuries.
