Abstract

A partir de la fundación en 1714 de la Real Academia Española se analizan los orígenes de esta institución y sus vínculos con el poder establecido. Se trata de conocer el carácter sociable de esta Corporación, y de otras similares, para comprender cómo la protección real y la condición nobiliaria de sus miembros determinaron la prudente actitud de las academias oficiales del siglo XVIII ante los problemas estéticos y literarios.
