Competencia comunicativa intercultural como enacción

Abstract
There is currently no general agreement as to whether the development of intercultural communicative competence (ICC) should revolve primarily around the knowledge component, the attitude component or the skills component. The enactive programme's conception of how social relations are established in communicative interactions points to the practical identification of these three components: the social knowledge acquired by the interlocutors is a “know-how” jointly constructed through sensory-motor adjustment processes, in which the interaction is inseparable from its emotional evaluation. The creation of shared social meaning is established within flexible boundaries that vary across cultures. ICC implies a reflective “know-how”, the development of a working knowledge of the behaviours involved in the action of conversing, of the emotions and adjustments they generate, and of their possible intercultural variability.
