Tense in the interpretation of utterances

Abstract
This paper aims to characterize the concept of tense within the framework of Relevance Theory (RT), and to explore the possibilities of application presented in this notion in the context of the interpretation made by the recipient of an utterance. It attempts to establish how the procedural features that characterize tense generate inferential processes that lead to interpretations of the tenses with modal values.
