About the Journal

POLICY

Focus and Scope

ReSed publishes original texts on social and educational issues, results of research projects, innovative proposals, experiences and book reviews, both in Spanish and in the official languages of Spain and the European Community in which they are written. It is a journal that is open to innovative and critical approaches. It is interested in academic publications, aiming to create national and international networks that share common interests in the aforementioned subjects.

Peer review process

Once the manuscript has been received, a check will be performed to determine whether the text meets the guidelines set out in the instructions for authors (see Author Guidelines). If this check is positive, the text will be sent on for assessment.

Articles and experiences are submitted to the criteria of experts who are not members of the editorial committee. The arbitration system turns to monograph editors and external evaluators, who are regular or specialised evaluators for each specific topic of monograph (see evaluators per year) using a double-blind peer review system. The system sends an e-mail upon receipt of the article or contribution. Once it has been submitted for assessment, either anonymously by the reviewers or by the editors, the manuscript's acceptance or acceptance with changes will be communicated. Then, the corresponding author shall take into consideration the criteria of the external assessments made. Information of the issue in which the article will published will also be provided.

The journal does not maintain contact with the authors, only through the reviewers or the editors, in the event that modifications are proposed.

Open Access Policy

Since its inception, ReSed has been published in an open access, free, and free of charge format. The journal provides open access to its content, based on the principle of offering the public free access to research studies, thus supporting a greater global exchange of knowledge. The journal encourages the reuse and self-archiving of its articles in international databases, repositories, directories and information systems. The journal is licensed under a Creative Commons Non-commercial 4.0 License.

Regarding openness in publications, ReSed supports special issues. If you would like to suggest a monograph, please submit your suggestion for a table of contents and abstract via the journal's email address.

Article authorship and contributions

The list of authors will include only those individuals who have contributed intellectually to the study, as well as to the data analysis, design, execution of research, drafting, and evaluation of the results, which have resulted in the contribution being sent to the journal. Authors may include a more specific description of each author's contribution at the end of their submission (and before the References).

The opinions expressed in the articles are the sole responsibility of the authors.

Authors retain their copyright and will grant the journal the right of first publication of their work, which is simultaneously subject to the Creative Commons Attribution License. It may be read, distributed or made available publicly, provided that the authorship and the URL of the journal are cited. Authors may subscribe to non-exclusive license agreements for distribution of the published version of the contribution by depositing it in institutional telematic archives, if they indicate it has been published in the journal. They may distribute their manuscript through researcher networks, or other networks of interest, to increase citations of the contribution.

Acknowledgement and thanks

Authors are responsible for requesting the necessary permission for the publication of texts, figures or tables from other publications, with the corresponding reference and citation of the source consulted. Partial figures, texts or tables that are taken from other writings will also be referenced.

In accordance with our anti-plagiarism policy, articles or contributions received will be checked by Turnitin, and all those submissions in which plagiarism is detected will be rejected.

Should working tools of research institutes, groups or professional associations have been used, they should be mentioned at the end of the article, after the authors' contribution (if the latter is included).

In the event that the study has been financed, a reference should be made to this fact after the authors' final contribution (if mentioned).

Privacy and data protection

According to EU Regulation 679/2016 on Data Protection and current legislation, the data provided will be processed exclusively in relation to the management of articles received in the journal ReSed with ISSN 2342-3255. The legal basis for data processing is consent. The data shall be used to disseminate the texts published in the journal and will not be transferred or sent to third parties, other than in relation to the care, control, and cases provided for in the Law.

Frequency of publication

ReSed is an annual publication. Each issue is published between February and May. However, should the case exceptionally arise, a special issue may be published to express thanks to certain groups or individuals.

Preservation Policy

The ReSed journal has an archiving system through OJS (Open Journal System) that guarantees the digital preservation of the publication and its articles. Each article, and the journal itself, have a corresponding DOI. In particular, the PKP PN (https://docs.pkp.sfu.ca/pkp-pn/en/) is activated. Archived issues may be consulted in the LOCKSS Editorial Manifesto  (https://revistas.uca.es/index.php/ReSed/gateway/lockss). This way, articles are progressively archived, ensuring that digital information is stored and classified in such a way that it can be permanently stored and used in the future.

The journal’s pdf files are stored in: RODIN and DIALNET.

ReSed is preparing for the publication of each article in formats other than PDF, which will allow for the export of those that currently exist or may appear in the future. In this regard, the digital preservation policy will be updated accordingly.

Ethics standards and good practice guidelines

The following and previously mentioned rules will be taken into consideration by the journal’s editorial team, the authors, and the reviewers of each article, as well as the ethical procedures for the publication and use of scientific content included in the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics regarding the use of data, experimentation and ethical practices.

Studies including personal data in their research must include an informed consent, where the objective of the research and the dissemination of the results are explained, while simultaneously guaranteeing confidentiality of the most personal data.

History of the Journal

RESED began its life as a journal in 2013 and publishes one issue a year between February and May. In its beginnings, the journal was hosted on the website of the Faculty of Educational Sciences, promoted by the Dean's office, to whom we are grateful for their work.

After a few years, and thanks to the Publications Service of the University of Cádiz, the journal's website is now searchable and functional, allowing for quick access to the contents. The OJS system, which has been in place since 2017, has allowed for more data to be incorporated, and we are currently in the process of hosting issues prior to 2017 on the platform.

This publication is therefore aimed at students, teachers and researchers with an interest in socio-educational issues.
