Abstract

Lenin and other leading Marxists analyzed imperialism over 100 years ago. Although some fundamental elements remain, globalization has developed critical new characteristics. These changes have led to the emergence of a transnational capitalist class, new relationships between capital and labor, and the use of revolutionary technologies in finance and production. The resulting social crisis has created new class tensions, splits among ruling elites, and the need to rethink left politics.
