Abstract
Sound plays a very important role in social life, but it remains little discussed in social sciences and digital communication. Domenico Napolitano's book aims to compensate for this shortcoming by focusing in particular on the computer technologies of voice assistants – Siri, Alexa, Google Home, etc. – to delve into the constructive and archaeological dynamics of the voice and interpret each sound event as a cultural and social artefact.
