Abstract
Autor de varias obras de corte cervantino y redactor del periódico El Argonauta Español (Cádiz-Madrid, 1790), Pedro Gatell conoció un éxito nada desdeñable entre el público de finales del siglo XVIII. Gracias a documentación inédita este artículo reconstruyela trayectoria vital de un escritor del que no se sabía casi nada hasta ahora y analiza el sorprendente conocimiento que tenía de la teoría de la relatividad de los mundos y del Voyage dans la lune del libertino francés Cyrano de Bergerac, obra a la cual remitió con finura y cautela.
