Sol, Tierra y Luna. Movimientos relativos y sus consecuencias

Resumen

Cuando se pregunta a los estudiantes por la causa de las estaciones suelen responder: “en verano estamos más próximos al Sol y en invierno estamos más lejos del Sol”. La persistencia de esta idea y el hecho de su generalización entre los estudiantes y muchos adultos me ha inducido a escribir este artículo, en el cual se trata de explicar, de una forma clara y simple, el motivo de este y otros fenómenos debidos al movimiento de la Luna alrededor de la Tierra y de ésta alrededor del Sol.

Sun, Earth and Moon. Relative movements and their consequences

When we ask students about the cause of the seasons, they often reply: “in summer we are closer to the Sun and in winter we are further from it”. The persistence of this idea and the fact that it is widespread among the students and many adults induced me to write this article, which tries to explain, in a clear and simple way, the reason for this and other phenomena that take place as a result of the motion of the Moon around the Earth and of the Earth around the Sun.
