Pragmatic values of por final in Spanish.

Abstract

The significance of the opposition por/para in Spanish, in particular in the uses associated with the sense of fina­lity, builds a theoretic and hermeneutic problem still not resolved by the current linguistics. During this article I will try to demonstrate that only by a pragmatic approach, that situates the analyse in the plan of the enuntiation, it is possible to understand the extent of the opposition and the modal-expressive values of the final por/porque.
