Interpersonal meanings in the legislative genres: the text as a macro-proposal

Abstract
This work follows the Análisis Estratégico del Discurso (Strategic Discourse Analysis) (Menéndez 1995, 1998, 2006, 2009) in its proposal to understand the ilocutivity as a pragmatic strategically used resource. It is grammatically inscribed in the LSF (Halliday 1970, 1988; Halliday and Hassan 1979; Halliday and Matthiessen 2004) as to the study of the clause as interchange, although it attempts to surpass that level in order to account for the realization of the forces in the discourses. The corpus consists in the Recommendation 27/93 and the Resolution 26/97, issued by the Ministerio de Educación Nacional in Argentina. The results prove that each text builds a complex net of information exchange as well as of goods and services and that this framework of forces contributes to the happy or fortunate realization (Austin 1962; Searle 1969, 1975, 1989) of the speech macro-act (van Dijk 1979, 1980) and support the hypothesis that the text -understood in these cases as a macro-proposal (Martin 1992b)- appears globally modulated, as a proposition might appear modulated within the framework of the clause.
