Abstract

El siglo XIX proveyó a «sus» mujeres de una imagen ideal en la que mirarse y construirse. Gertrudis Gómez de Avellaneda, como mujer y como escritora de este tiempo, habría de cuestionar dicho legado, y para ello utilizarla su Diario, pero también sus novelas románticas. Sab, Dolores y Espatolino constituyen tres ejemplos de este proceso, donde la locura, la melancolfa y el convento se presentan como destinos de mujer que esconden un
decir y un vivir alternativos.
