Abstract

The growing interest in the study of children's literature in Spain in recent years has been clearly demonstrated by the number of publications, congresses and symposia on the subject that have taken place in the last two decades. In this paper, as an introductory and straightforward approach, we have chosen to bring together the literary text and a linguistic concept, Topic, which has been and continues to be the subject of much debate throughout the last fifteen years. The particular characteristics of the genre and register that children's literature present form the basis of this analysis.
