English as a source language for translation and its teaching as a foreign language: the case of partitives

Abstract
This paper aims at describing the behaviour and functions of a representative series of English partitives as an example of a corpus-based study. It is our claim that the results of such descriptive studies of real language use are very helpful especially in the fields of Foreign Language Teaching and Translation Studies.
