The dilogical space and its voices: towards a pragmasyntax of the Spanish verb

Abstract
One of the main concerns for the pragmatic analyst when having to generate the surface structure of linguistic variation in Spanish is to provide motivations for the different ordering syntactic variants that discourse structure relations can exhibit. These data were analyzed for evidence of three constraints: the Focus/Presupposition development patterns, and the managements Given/New information and Emission / Reception activities. The analysis revealed that these constraints play a crucial role in the ordering of the syntactic alternatives of the Spanish verb. By using the method of Liminar Grammar to analyze the definitional structure of syntactic units (the verb), we believe it is possible to obtain the criteria through which one can assign units to a specific domain, as well as determine and classify their relevant interrelationships both on a micro- and macro-structural level.
