The media as a key element for social rehabilitation
Info
Abstract
This article is a reflection on the role of the media and its effects on convicts' social rehabilitation. Within the legal framework (1978 Spanish Constitution and the General Penitenciary Law) which defends the full rehabilitation of the convicts, the use of the media is analised from both angles: one, as a tool that provides easy access to information and entertaintment, and on the other side as a referent to deliver a real, non-biased and reliable information about what is really happening inside the penitenciary institutions.
