Abstract
The following article aims to analyse the Spanish media's impact on Moroccan youth as a stimulus to initiate a migration project. The design of the article is mixed, using qualitative techniques such as interviews and focus groups and, in addition, questionnaires as a quantitative resource. The data were collected in Tetouan (Morocco) between June and September 2023. The results show, on the one hand, components of attraction to initiate a migration project and, on the other hand, repulsive aspects revolving around fears driven by rejection, racism and even misinformation or manipulated information related to incitement to homosexuality and multicultural tensions. The research concludes that public administrations and social organisations must observe and consider the role that the media and digital social networks play in terms of their capacity to influence young people and the effects that fake news can have on the population in terms of their capacity to generate conflict.
