Abstract
El objeto de este trabajo se centra en analizar el papel que están jugando y pueden llegar a jugar los documentales científicos que se difunden ampliamente a través de la TV, venta en quioscos, etc., en la formación de una ciudadanía consciente de los problemas a los que se enfrenta hoy la humanidad y preparada para participar en la adopción de las medidas necesarias.

Scientific documentaries as tools for preparing society to build up a sustainable future
The aim of this research is to analyse the role that is currently played and could be played by the audiovisual media in making society aware of the problems humanity faces and preparing people to participate in the process of taking the necessary measures. More specifically, the paper focuses on documentaries, which receive widespread coverage on television, are sold at newsagents, etc.
