Abstract

Emerging technologies have revolutionized the world in recent decades. But, undoubtedly, the emergence of Artificial Intelligence has provoked an unprecedented technological revolution in different areas of society, in a transversal manner, shaking areas that were assumed to be alien to this type of development, such as ethics and higher education. This work aims to characterize, through a systematic literature mapping, the articles published on Artificial Intelligence in higher education and its ethical implications, between 2019 and March 2024 in WoS and Scopus databases. Eighty-seven articles were analyzed, from which it was possible to identify the need for regulations and ethical standards for the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence in higher education, highlighting the importance of balancing its benefits with ethical challenges. It also stresses the need to develop updated curricula to train professionals with digital skills and ethical awareness.
