Abstract
Microwaves by spark. Optical experiments with microwaves produced with a home-made equipment
The electromagnetic field theory was the greatest unifying success of the 19th century. Hertz’s experiments proved the validity of the theory and showed the existence of other waves, unlike to light, but having their same properties. It is easy to prove some of these properties by means of microwaves which we generate making use of simple home-made apparatus. Our procedure is based on techniques of Hertz’s successors, such as Righi or Lodge.
Keywords: Hertzian waves; Coherer; Optics.
